APTOS— St. Francis senior running back Johrdan Garibay was running wild for the Sharks as they picked up their first win of the season.
He finished with 147 yards rushing on 15 carries and a touchdown en route to a 40-7 victory over Rancho San Juan in non-league play on Sept. 18.
“My linemen made perfect holes and they let me do my magic down the field, putting me in one-on-one situations,” he said.
St. Francis quarterback Kyle Dyer had a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown to senior Dez Litel on a short screen that turned into a 68-yard touchdown. Junior running back Nathaniel Madrigal-Hernandez had a rushing touchdown and senior Charlie Valencia scooped up a fumble for a defensive touchdown that capped the scoring.
“Today we all worked together and we executed, it was amazing,” Garibay said.
St. Francis coach John Ausman said he believes they put together a full game and they were able to execute more efficiently.
“We executed a lot better, which was much needed because the first three games we shot ourselves in the foot numerous times,” he said.
