Watsonville fell to 1-10 in Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission division action with an 11-3 loss to visiting Soledad on Wednesday evening at Harlan Guy Field.
Senior pitcher Dylan Vargas took the loss for Watsonville, which is 2-13 on the year and will make the long trip to Soledad for the second game of the two-game series today at 4 p.m.
Senior outfielder James Sandoval had two hits, including a double. Junior catcher Ryan Itamura also doubled.

• N.M.C. pitchers toss no-hitters – North Monterey County pitchers Wyatt Ramos and Jordan Larva flirted with perfect games in back-to-back PCAL-Cypress wins. Ramos was one walk away from a perfect game in Tuesday’s 11-0 win over Gonzales, tossing a no-hitter with five strikeouts. Larva threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts in a 21-0 win over Pajaro Valley on Wednesday and was a hit batter away from a perfect game.
A.J. Valdez was 3-for-3 with five RBI in Tuesday’s win, and also hit a grand slam to lead the Condors to an 8-5 win over Milpitas on Saturday.
Larva went 2-for-3 with three RBI on Wednesday.
• San Benito 11, M.V.C. 6 – The Mustangs dropped their two-game PCAL-Gabilan series against the Haybalers on Tuesday.
Junior catcher Nathan Renggli drove in three runs and scored once in the loss. Junior first baseman Aidan Lee went 2-for-2 with a scored run.

G LEAGUE BASKETBALL
• RGV 144, Santa Cruz 125– The Warriors’ season came to a close in Tuesday’s Western Conference Finals against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Santa Cruz led 38-32 at the end of the first quarter, but was outscored 43-21 in the second and never recovered.
The Vipers, who will play the Long Island Nets in the upcoming G League Finals, shot 22-of-49 from deep. Santa Cruz, which tied R.G.V. for the best record in the regular season at 34-16, was 10-of-28 from beyond the arc.
Kendrick Nunn paced the Warriors with 29 points, and Darius Morris chipped in 21 points, seven assists and four rebounds. Jacob Evans (13), Damion Lee (12), Alen Smailagic (10) and Juan Toscano-Anderson (10) also scored in double figures for Santa Cruz.
