Tom “Tommy” Gugale was called home to our Lord on July 28, 2017. He was 47.
Tom was born in Watsonville, California on November 22, 1969. His loving parents, Tom Dean and Cornelia, raised him on Blossom Dr. Tom attended Salsipuedes School and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1987. As a boy, Tom played baseball for Salsipuedes Little League. He would continue his love for the sport for the majority of his adult life, while coaching kids throughout the Monterey Bay and beyond. His voice that delivered one-liners and nicknames will be forever in our memories.
Tom leaves behind his wife Lucia (and family), son Tom Jr., mother Cornelia, brother David “Doza”, nephews Marc and David “Digger”, Grandma Epifania (Epi), Auntie Terry, Uncle David (Angela), cousins Jimmy, Lori (Efrain, Carson and Xander), Phillip (Megan), Davey (Venus) and extended family.
Tom was preceded in death by his grandfather Tom George, father Tom Dean, brother Marc, and grandfather Fermin.
A Mass and celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Valley Catholic Church (Our Lady Help of Christians), 2401 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10 am. A reception will follow at Pinto Lake Park, 451 Green Valley Rd. in Watsonville. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Palma High School or the Gugale Memorial Account at Comerica Bank account #8002980756.
Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
