Thanks to the help of an alert resident, officers on patrol arrested a man suspected of breaking into a local business.

Dispatchers received a call from a community member reporting that a man was acting suspicious on the 300 block of Harvest Drive.

As Watsonville Police officers were canvassing the area, they came across a shattered business door and, almost simultaneously, were notified by dispatch that the alarm system had been set off. A perimeter was quickly set up, followed by a search of the business, police said. 

Officers, along with K-9 Canelo, found the suspected burglar hiding under a blanket. 

The suspect, 31-year-old Kyle Jimenez Camargo, was arrested and transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail.
