contributed STOLEN BIKES The California Highway Patrol joined other local law agencies in recovering over two dozen stolen bikes including this $3,000 e-bike.

A man whose E-bike was stolen recently tracked it down to a Watsonvlle residence using a GPS device he had planted.

He called police to help him get the bike back, and when they entered they found a total of 25 stolen bikes.

Watsonville Police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said the man was assisting with a community event in February in Watsonville when his E-Bike was stolen. 

On Friday, Santa Cruz Auto Theft Reduction (a multiagency task force consisting of the California Highway Patrol, Watsonville Police, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, DMV investigations, and the Santa Cruz District Attorney’s office) served a search warrant at the residence. 

There, investigators recovered more than 25 bikes.They were also returned one of the recovered bikes, valued at over $3,000 to the rightful owner.
