SANTA CRUZ—Santa Cruz Warriors forward Quinndary Weatherspoon scored a team-high 24 points in a 112-110 win over the NBA G League Ignite on Friday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
Golden State Warriors rookies Jonathan Kuminga finished with 12 points and five rebounds, while guard Moses Moody closed out the night with 17 points and five rebounds for Santa Cruz (3-4).
Kuminga and Moody were both assigned to Santa Cruz on Nov 26.
Kuminga has played in 12 games for Golden State this season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game.
Moody has appeared in 14 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 1.6 points in 6.1 minutes per game.
The Ignite’s Scott Henderson led both teams with 31 points off the bench, adding six rebounds and seven assists. Center Michael Foster Jr. secured a double-double for Ignite, finishing with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Guard MarJon Beauchamp ended the night with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Santa Cruz took an early lead thanks to their defensive energy and 12 points from Weatherspoon.
Henderson had 12 points in the second quarter to help the Ignite cut the Warriors’ lead down to 68-58 going into the half.
The Ignite (1-4) pulled to within four, 88-84, at the end of third quarter. They tied the game at 110-all with 34 seconds remaining, but a foul on Jeff Dowtin Jr. with two seconds left in the game helped the Warriors secure the 112-110 win.

Klay Thompson assigned to Santa Cruz
The Golden State Warriors announced on Nov. 28 that they assigned guard Klay Thompson to the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Thompson, who has missed the last two seasons due to a torn left ACL and a torn right Achilles, is slowly making his return to the court.
Golden State also assigned center James Wiseman, who underwent successful surgery to repair a right meniscus tear on April 15.
Both players practiced with the team in Santa Cruz on Sunday.
