Work continues on the installation of large tile panels in the eighth phase of the ongoing mosaic mural project, titled Watsonville Brilliante, which has covered much of the parking structure at the corner of Second and Rodriguez streets.

Headed up by Watsonville artist Kathleen Crocetti, the project got underway in March 2020 and features scores of cultures around the world in individual panels designed and constructed by area youths at the nearby Muzzio Mosaic Art Center.

Some of the panels were also built at the Watsonville Plaza during the Farmers Market to allow young people to participate in the project.

The current phase includes art that reflects the people of Mexico, South and Central America and the Pacific Islands who live or have lived in Watsonville.

Crocetti invites the community to get involved with the project. For information, contact her by email at [email protected].
