On Oct. 12, the Watsonville City Council started the process of declaring the abandoned property a public nuisance due to illegal camping, lack of sanitation and other issues. The council moved the final public nuisance declaration from its Tuesday meeting to its meeting in November because the site’s lessee and property owner had followed through with the city’s demands, which included installing these barricades and other fencing.
this site needs to become low cost housing, perhaps a bowling alley and down the street, a new city park.
what a sad end for a great store that served Watsonville well for many years.
