Photo: Rite Aid robbed at gunpoint for second time in 2 months

Watsonville Police Master Officer Charles Bailey deals with an armed robbery at Rite Aid on Freedom Boulevard Tuesday morning.

Bailey said a man wearing a mask and armed with a handgun entered the store around 10:20am and robbed the front desk cashier of an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled the store, which is in the Freedom Centre, on foot. Watsonville police closed the store and surrounding area to collect evidence for more than an hour. Bailey said that a similar armed robbery happened at the store on Nov. 17. The store features a pharmacy and a Western Union money transfer service. No suspects had been located by 1pm Tuesday.
