ABOVE: Fire engineer Martin Muhoberac cleans up shattered glass at the scene of a four-vehicle crash on Main Street between East Lake Avenue and West Beach Street in Watsonville Friday morning. Watsonville Police Sgt. Mike Ridgway said it appeared that a female driver of a Honda Accord was traveling south on Main Street at 9:25 a.m. when she failed to notice cars were stopping for a pedestrian. Her car plowed into a GMC pickup, and then, instead of stepping on the brake, the woman reportedly slammed on the gas and smashed into a Chevy pickup, caving in its rear end. The Chevy was then shoved into a parked Toyota Tundra, causing minor damage. Emergency officials said the man in the Chevy suffered significant injuries. All other injuries were minor. Both southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Main Street were closed for about an hour. The incident is still under investigation.
