FELTON—A Felton man riding a motorcycle was killed Monday when he lost control and crashed, California Highway Patrol officer Julieta Trenado said.

According to Trenado, the 47-year-old man was riding a 1996 Harley Davidson on Highway 9 at about 4:55pm when he failed to navigate a turn and struck a guardrail on the east shoulder of the road. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the driveway to Henry Cowell State Park.

The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
