Margarita Brito died at her Watsonville home surrounded by her family on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. She was 79.

She was born to Maclovio Brito and Concepcion Miranda in Guerrero, Mexico on April 11, 1939. Mrs. Brito was a resident of this community for many years. She retired after working in local canneries for 40 years. She was a sweet and loving mother and grandmother, always providing and caring for her family. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, exercising and watching her favorite soccer team play (America) on television. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and cooking delicious meals for her family.

She is survived by her four sons, Johnny Nava, Adolfo, David and Moises Brito; four daughters, Klaudia Nava, Marisol Moran, Margarita Brito and Maria Emperatriz Brito; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Dec. 4. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Dec. 6 with burial following at Valley Public Cemetery.
