A man was killed Friday morning when he was shot multiple times on the 800 block of McKenzie Avenue.

According to Watsonville Police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido, dispatchers received multiple 911 calls about gunshots being heard in the neighborhood at about 10am.   

Officers responded and found a 23-year-old man near a sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.

No suspect information was available Friday afternoon.  

The area around McKenzie and Tuttle avenues will remain closed for several hours as detectives investigate. Anyone who may have information regarding this case is asked to call 471.1151.
