SANTA CRUZ—Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies on Thursday arrested a man after finding more than three pounds of heroin and several illegal firearms in his possession.

Joseph Watts, 65, was charged with drug possession, and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail, jail records showed.

According to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Ashley Keehn, the Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant on the 2000 block of 7th Avenue Thursday morning. This resulted in the seizure of 3.22 pounds of heroin, which was packaged for sale, and multiple loaded firearms.
