The Cabrillo College Seahawks bounced back from their first Coast Conference Pacific division loss on Tuesday with an 8-4 win over Hartnell College on Thursday in Salinas.

Nick Ciandro hit a three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to all-but seal the Seahawks win. Ciandro finished the day 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two scored runs.Zach Thibaut was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a scored run. Easton Vidales and Colton Crabtree doubled.

Cabrillo (19-9, 9-1) hosts Hartnell College today at 1 p.m.

BOY’S TRACK AND FIELD

• Gilroy 82.5, Watsonville 52.5; Gilroy 118, Pajaro Valley 14 – Watsonville High’s Pedro Alcantara was a double-winner for the Wildcatz in their Monterey Bay League Pacific division loss to Gilroy on Thursday.

Alcantara won the shot put (44-feet, 11.5-inches) and discus (126-7).

Pajaro Valley High’s Jose Sedano returned to the track and won the 100-meters in 11.58 seconds.

• Aptos 78, Santa Cruz 55 – Danner Pardue and Ethan Rasmussen were both double-winners for the Aptos High Mariners in their 78-55 win over Santa Cruz High on Thursday in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League dual meet action.

Pardue won the 100-meters (11.34 seconds) and the 200 (23.17), while Rasmussen took the discus (147-feet, 2-inches) and the shot put (42-2).

• MVC 69, Christopher 58 – The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs had five different event winners in Thursday’s Monterey Bay League Pacific division dual meet win over Christopher.

Holden Lukin set a personal best in the long jump (19-feet, 5-inches), Chris Denning did the same in the shot put (40-2.5) and David Wang followed their lead in the 100-meters (11.57 seconds).

• San Benito 113, NMC 23 – Ryan Orlando and Ricardo Guzman both picked up wins for the North Monterey County High Condors in their Monterey Bay League Gabilan division dual meet loss to San Benito on Wednesday.

Orlando won the high jump (6-feet) and Guzman edged out a win in the long jump (18-5.5).

GIRL’S TRACK AND FIELD

• Watsonville 87, Gilroy 49; Gilroy 66, Pajaro Valley 61 – Watsonville High’s Daniela Salazar won three events for the Wildcatz in their Monterey Bay League Pacific division dual meet win over Gilroy on Thursday.

Salazar was first in the long jump (13-feet, 5.5-inches), 400-meters (1 minute, 5.98 seconds) and 800 (2:39.14). Stephanie Villa was a double-winner, taking the 1,600 (5:54.41) and the 3,200 (12:51.15).

• Aptos 99, Santa Cruz 32 – Marea Zlatunich and Brynn Mitchell were double-winners for the Aptos High Mariners in their 99-32 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League dual meet win over Santa Cruz on Thursday.

Zlatunich breezed to wins in the 800-meters (2 minutes, 28.68 seconds) and 1,600 (5:18.20).

Mitchell, meanwhile, set personal best marks in the long jump (16-feet, 0.5-inches) and triple jump (34-6.5).

• Christopher 80, MVC 50 – Delaney Ezeji-Okoye won a pair of events in the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs Monterey Bay League Pacific division dual meet loss to Christopher High on Thursday.

Ezeji-Okoye won the pole vault (11-feet even) and the 100-meters (12.56 seconds).

• San Benito 89, NMC 46 – Sarah Delgado won the 400-meters (1 minute, 15.61 seconds) and the 800 (2:35.41) for the North Monterey County High Condors in their Monterey Bay League Gabilan division dual meet loss to San Benito on Wednesday.

HS BASEBALL

• Aptos 4, Aloha 2 – The Aptos High Mariners beat Aloha, of Oregon, on Wednesday in non-league play.

Tate Stone-Hinds went 3-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases and three RBIs. Jake Keaschall scored a pair of runs and doubled.

Joe Fugate picked up the win after allowing four hits and no walks over five innings. Eddie Munoz recorded the save.

• Watsonville 13, Pajaro Valley 6 – JoJo Vargas went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, Dylan Vargas was 3-for-5 with three doubles and an RBI and the Watsonville High Wildcatz rallied past the Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies for a Monterey Bay League Pacific division win on Thursday.

Dylan Vargas also picked up the win on the mound for Watsonville, allowing only two hits and striking out 12 over six innings.

Clayton Glassi was 2-for-4 with three scored runs and Gio Gonzalez finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.

• Watsonville 10, Alvarez 2 – Max Ramirez pitched the Watsonville High Wildcatz past the Alvarez High Eagles to a 10-2 Monterey Bay League Pacific division win on Wednesday.

Ramirez went 5 2-3 innings, allowing only six hits, three walks and two earned runs, while striking out six.

JoJo Vargas went 2-for-3 with two scored runs, two doubles and three RBIs. Jason Garza was 3-for-4 with a double, a scored run and two RBIs. James Gomez Jr. finished 3-for-5 with two scored runs.

• Watsonville 3, Monterey 1 – Juliana Wilson hit a two-run homer to help the Watsonville Wildcatz beat the Monterey Toreadores, 3-1, on Wednesday in Monterey Bay League Gabilan division play.

Nicole Wilson was 2-for-3 with a double and a scored run.

Jessica Rodriguez went the distance for the win and allowed only three hits, while striking out 10 batters.

• Seaside 5, MVC 2 – The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs lost 5-2 to the Seaside High Spartans on Wednesday in Monterey Bay League Pacific division action.

Syerra Montes was 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Haley Hollingsworth drove in a run and Samantha Baer tripled.

• Pajaro Valley 3, Seaside 0 – The Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies swept the Seaside High Spartans 25-18, 25-18, 26-24 on Thursday in Monterey Bay League Pacific division action.

Ruben Garcia had 12 assists, five aces and four kills. Rafael Betancourt and Geovanny Barajas added seven kills apiece.

• Aptos 3, Santa Cruz 0 – The Aptos High Mariners swept the Santa Cruz High Cardinals, 25-11, 25-8, 25-17, on Wednesday in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.

Jordan Notari had 29 digs and six kills, Kacey Losik added 30 assists, two blocks and two aces and Jayson Guy chipped in nine kills and three blocks.

• Mt. Madonna 3, Soquel 0 – Brigg Busenhart had 24 kills, Luca Peruzzi added 12 and the Mt. Madonna Hawks swept the Soquel High Knights on Wednesday.

• Carmel 12, Aptos 9 – The Aptos High Mariners fell, 12-9, to the Carmel High Padres on Thursday in Aptos.

Will Patterson had two goals and three assists and Patrick Peoples added three goals and an assist, while Lucas Junod scored a pair of goals. Jackson Carver made two assists.

• Aptos 9, Santa Cruz 7 – Missing seven players, the Aptos High Mariners edged the Santa Cruz High Cardinals 9-7 on Wednesday in Mission Trail Athletic League action at Christopher High in Gilroy.

Jack Hegerle scored three goals and made an assist,
Jackson Carver made three assists and picked up 10 ground balls and Patrick Peoples scored two goals and made two assists.

• Aptos 195, Soquel 286 – Noah Clarke and Jonny Staka both fired a 37 for the Aptos High Mariners to earn co-medalist honors in their 195-286 win over Soquel High on Thursday at DeLaveaga Golf Course.

• Santa Cruz 256, St. Francis 266 – Jason Kane carded a 45 for the St. Francis High Sharks in their 256-266 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League loss to the Santa Cruz High Cardinals on Thursday at Spring Hills Golf Course.

Chris Copriviza and Izzie Mendez both followed Kane with a 49.

• SLV 240, St. Francis 275 – The St. Francis High Sharks fell, 240-275, to the San Lorenzo Valley High Cougars on Wednesday in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play at Spring Hills Golf Course.

Izzie Mendez fired a 48 to lead the Sharks, while David Vasquez, Jason Kane and Chris Copriviza followed with a 52, 54 and 54, respectively.
