Of the 200 people tested for coronavirus at Natividad Medical Center, a 172-bed acute-care teaching hospital in Salinas, 5 people tested positive for coronavirus.
There are now 32 cases of coronavirus in Santa Cruz County.
Thus far, there have been 1001 deaths in U.S. for coronavirus and 68,300 cases have been reported.

The staff at Watsonville Community Hospital was treated to free pizzas Thursday, thanks to Graniterock and Granite Construction in Watsonville. Stephen Snodgrass, CFO of Graniterock, said it is an important time to let health care workers know they are not alone while dealing the coronavirus outbreak. The pizzas were prepared at Cassidy’s Pizza, a long-standing Watsonville business.

A whopping 3.3 million filed for unemployment claims last week. That number if four times the amount of claims in 1982, the previous record.

Cold weather continues to grip our region as a cold air mass drifts south from the Gulf of Alaska. The low last night in Watsonville was 38 degrees. The National Weather Service has posted a flash flood advisory until 5:15 p.m. today. Flashes of lightening and rumbling thunder visited the Pajaro Valley Thursday afternoon and heavy showers sporadically came through. While Friday is expected to be mostly sunny, the Weather Service is saying that more rain will come over the weekend.
