WATSONVILLE — Linda Marie Garcia died at her home in Watsonville surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 1, 2018. She was 68. 

A native of Miami, Okla., she lived part of her childhood there before moving to Buena Park. She lived in Santa Cruz County for the last 45 years.

Mrs. Garcia worked for some time at Lynx Electronics before going to work at Bunny’s Shoes in Santa Cruz as a bookkeeper for 15 years when she retired to care for her mother. She enjoyed making jewelry, painting, and sewing. She was also an excellent cook and loved making trips to Chukchansi Casino.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband, Tim Garcia, of the family home in Watsonville; daughters, Victoria and Anne Maher, both of Florida, and Danielle Garcia of Watsonville; and brother, Tim Maher, of Nicaragua. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Maher; and sister, Iris Forrester.

A Rosary and Chapel Blessing will be Thursday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. There will be a viewing beginning at 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
