Joyce A. Walton passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 16, 2018. She was 73.

Ms. Walton was born to Harris C. Taylor and Juanita Edsall in Aptos on January 7, 1945. She was a retired cafeteria worker for PVUSD. She was a fan of tennis, and enjoyed watching the Wimbledon Tournaments, and also liked to vacation at Bass Lake and visit lighthouses. Her true passion was Elvis Presley, which coincidentally she died on the same day as he but 41 years apart. At the time of her passing, she was wearing an Elvis Presley T-shirt.

Joyce is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kim) Walton; eight grandchildren, Kevin Walton of Iowa, Ted Powles of Oregon, CPL Kendall (Patty) Walton of North Carolina, Sharlene (Forest) Loucks of Oregon, Kimberly Walton of Watsonville, Bethel Joy Eclevia and Jessa Mae Eclevia of the Philippines, and Dakota Walton of Oregon; two great-granddaughters, Zoey Walton of N. Carolina, and Crystal Loucks is expected in November 2018; and one sister Cozy Shaffer of Freedom. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ninon Powles in 2016.

Funeral Service will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 12 noon. Burial will take place at a later date.
