MADERA — Jose Garcia Sanchez of Madera, formerly of Moss Landing, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at St. Agnes hospital in Fresno, surrounded by his family. He was 77.

Mr. Sanchez was born in Jerahuaro, Michoacan and moved to California at a very young age. He worked in agriculture for 60 years and retired from Carl Dobler and Sons as a foreman. His joy was spending time with his family and he loved to garden. He loved playing jokes on everyone and loved to make people laugh. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nicolasa Sanchez; daughters, Teresa (Miguel) Bravo, Nancy (Bryan) McKinley and Esbie Sanchez; sons, Carlos, Jose “Pepe,” Rudy, George; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Francisco Sanchez; and one daughter, Josefina Sanchez.

Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 30 at Healey Mortuary, in Salinas, 405 North Sanborn Road, viewing from 4-6 p.m., rosary starting at 6 p.m. Mass will be held Friday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Refuge in Castroville, burial will follow.
