Joel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He is survived by parents, Vic and Nancy; sons, Ryan and Nicolas Lewis and Shane Steckler; brother, Randall and nieces, Kendra and Georgianna.
Joel attended Bradley Elementary, Aptos Junior and Aptos High School. His last employment was at TJ’s Classic Car Restorations. Joel was a loyal friend who was always ready to help his friends with their cars or in any other way that his help was needed. His favorite pastime was fishing at Pinto Lake. He will be missed by his family and the many friends that he made during his lifetime.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Santa Cruz County for their care and support. Also, thanks to the friends and neighbors who have shown their love.
At Joel’s request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of Joel’s life will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to Hospice, www.hospicesantacruz.org. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
