Joel Guzman Mendoza of Salinas died on Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was 78.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1939 in Michoacan, Mexico.
He is survived by his children, Joel Gusman, Ulises Mendoza, Suehay Mendoza and Alfredo Mendoza; sisters, Nicolasa Sanchez and Maria Guadalupe Mendoza; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Mendoza Sr.; mother, Esther Mendoza; and brothers, Antonio Mendoza Jr. and Rogelio Mendoza.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5 from 1-6 p.m. at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road in Salinas.
A Rosary vigil will take place on Thursday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 11140 Preston St., Castroville.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 11140 Preston St., Castroville.
Burial to follow services at the Castroville District Cemetery, 8442 Moss Landing Road, Moss Landing.
