A dog that was shot Dec. 27 beneath the Main Street Bridge is on the mend and up for adoption, according to Watsonville Police.
During surgery, Oso had to have his right front leg amputated.
No arrests have been made in the incident that unfolded on the Pajaro River levee shortly before 12:30am. A witness reported seeing two suspects jump from the bridge onto the levee, and walk down a campsite where Oso was shot.
Oso is now up for adoption, WPD said.
“He will need lifetime support and follow-up care,” said Michelle Pulido, spokeswoman for WPD. Those who are interested in adopting Oso can call the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter at 454.7200.
Anyone with information about the shooting are asked to call Detective Juan Castillo at 768.3358.
