A Santa Cruz man was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman, and Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking additional victims.
Dagoberto Garcia, 58, is listed on the Pajaro Valley Unified School District website as Principal at E.A. Hall Middle School.
He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave while the investigation takes place, district spokeswoman Alicia Jimenez said.
Former Watsonville High School Principal Elaine Legorreta has taken the role in his absence, she said.
“The safety and well-being of our community remain our top priority,” interim Superintendent Murry Schekman said in a statement to families. “We are cooperating fully with authorities and will provide updates as appropriate. We will have counseling services available on site for those in need.”
Garcia faces charges of raping an intoxicated person, sexual penetration of an intoxicated person and oral copulation. Detectives learned of the crimes on Feb. 20, according to Santa Cruz Sheriff’s spokeswoman Ashley Keehn. He was not in custody at the Santa Cruz County Jail Friday, jail records showed.
No minors are though to be involved, Keehn said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s non-emergency dispatch at 831-471-1121.

When the schools promote sexualizing children, what do you expect?
What a stupid comment.
