WATSONVILLE — Esther Betanzo died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017. She was 67.

She was born on Nov. 1, 1950 in Oaxaca, Mexico. She was a devoted Catholic and nurturing mother. She cherished spending time with her family who meant the absolute world to her.

She is survived by her husband, Roldan Jimenez; her children, Jaime and Victor Betanzo, Ramon, Ruben and Ricky Jimenez-Betanzo; siblings, Arcelia, Ricardo, Lucio, Ruben and Cruz Betanzo; four grandchildren; and numerous cousins and a new baby girl to-be.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4 from 3-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church with a Final Blessing Ceremony to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
