The Santa Cruz Warriors defeated the Reno Bighorns 116-96 in wire-to-wire fashion on Wednesday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

Phil Pressey led the Warriors (19-16) with a double-double, notching 21 points and 11 assists. James Southerland (16 points, 12 rebounds) and Dennis Clifford (14 points, 10 rebounds) also finished with double-doubles for Santa Cruz. Scott Wood contributed 15 points, while Cleanthony Early and Cam Jones both added 11 points apiece off the bench.

The Warriors would expand on an eight-point lead in the second quarter, opening the frame on a 13-6 run. Santa Cruz held Reno (12-23) to 27.6 percent shooting and a 16.7 percent effort from 3-point range in the frame to bring its lead to 18 points at the half.

The Warriors led by 22 points early in the third and held off Reno’s 27-9 run to pick up the win.

Santa Cruz will travel to Sacramento for a rematch with the Bighorns on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Golden 1 Center.
