- Monte Vista Christian vs. Berean Christian, baseball, Saturday at 4pm: The Central Coast Section Division VI champion and top-seeded Mustangs (22-8-1) will host the No. 6 Eagles in the CIF NorCal Regional D-V final.
- PVLL playoffs, youth baseball, Saturday at 3pm: A pair of Pajaro Valley Little League teams in the Major Division will square off at Ruso Field for this year’s championship game.

Major Division
No. 2 Twins 9, No. 4 Rockies 0: J.J. Martinez led the way with a masterful performance on the mound, giving up just two hits and two walks while racking up 10 strikeouts in six innings (81 pitches) for the Twins in their playoff win May 26. With the win, the Twins advanced to Tuesday’s semifinal against the No. 3 Giants. Offensively, Martinez finished with a double. Fellow teammates Mason Borrmann had two singles and Isaiah Espinoza had a double and a pair of RBIs. Eduardo Castaneda finished with a single and a double for the Rockies.
Minor League
No. 4 Reds 16, No. 5 Dodgers 15: The Reds managed to stay alive in the playoffs after they staged a two-out, nobody-on rally in the top of the seventh inning for their win May 26. Julian Garcia had two singles, two RBIs and scored three runs for the Reds, and fellow teammate Jordan Ortega added three runs. Aaron Garcia had two singles and Dante Ponce’s double ignited the rally in the seventh for the Reds, who advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals matchup against the Red Sox. Jayden Puckett finished with three singles and scored three runs for the Dodgers, and fellow teammate Joseph Westfall added three runs.

Celebration of Life
Aptos High will host a Celebration of Life event for the late Bill Warmerdam, a former iconic basketball coach for the Mariners, inside Warmerdam Gym on Saturday at 1pm. Some guest speakers include Steve Miles, Ray Tanimoto, Joe Smith, Bobby Williams, Kev and Stu Walters and Mike Gruber.
