WATSONVILLE — Fiaau Ohmann has joined the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s team to help develop businesses.

In her new role, Ohmann is visiting local businesses, learning about their services and finding out how the chamber can help them grow.

“I’m very excited about being a part of this new development,” she said. “Our chamber is very dynamic, and we have great people serving on our board.”

Networking is a major part of the role, she said, introducing businesses to others in the community.

“We are all about our business community,” Ohmann said. “We want them to be a part of our community in Watsonville. That’s what drives business.”

Ohmann has been involved with the chamber for a number of years. She currently serves on the organization’s board of directors as chair, and has served on its business and education committee.

She is also vice president of Soroptimist International of Watsonville.

A small business owner for more than 20 years, Ohmann is an independent associate for LegalShield, offering identity theft protection and legal services for businesses and individuals.

Chamber CEO Shaz Roth said the business development role is a “natural fit” for Ohmann.

“We are at a position of real growth in the chamber,” she said. “Fiaau is going to be an important part of it.”
