Classes, workshops ongoing at Watsonville Yoga
WATSONVILLE — Watsonville Yoga, Dance and Healing Arts, 375 Main St., will hold a special workshop on Aug. 5.
Partner Yoga for Beginners, with Jo Ann Vasquez and Benjamin Blanchette, will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Workshop covers Green Business certification
WATSONVILLE — The California Green Business Network will hold a workshop on Aug. 3 from noon to 1 p.m. at Totlcom, 65 Hangar Way in Watsonville.
The workshop will cover the basics of Green Business certification.
Attendees are asked to bring a lunch. Beverages and dessert will be provided.

Rio Del Mar Esplanade concessions now available
APTOS — The Santa Cruz County Department of Parks, Open Space and Cultural Services announced new concessions serving beachgoers in the Aptos area.
With summer in full swing, the new SUP Shack is now operating at Rio Del Mar Esplanade, offering various beach supplies and boogie board, wetsuit, stand-up paddleboard and surf board rentals. A second vendor, Sycamore Concessions, is expected to begin operating later this summer with a selection of food and refreshments.
“This is a wonderful public-private partnership to enhance the beach-going experience for Santa Cruz County locals and visitors while augmenting and complementing the business environment in the area,” Parks Director Jeff Gaffney said. “Improving recreational opportunities is part of the mission of Santa Cruz County Parks.”
The county conducted a competitive process to select the new vendors, which operate on county-owned property at 105 Esplanade in Aptos.

Workshops scheduled for small businesses
APTOS — The Small Business Development Center at Cabrillo College is offering its 2018 Build Your Business Seminars and Brown Bag Series.
Each series offers workshops on a rotating schedule, covering a range of topics from business plans and recordkeeping, to social media and website development.

Santa Cruz County Bank reports record earnings
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — Santa Cruz County Bank announced record unaudited net income for the second quarter ended June 30, 2018 of $2.7 million.
This represents the best quarter in the bank’s history, an increase of 8 percent compared to the prior quarter (which was the previous record) and an increase of 41 percent compared to the same quarter in 2017.
“We are very pleased to achieve two successive quarters of historical earnings,” said President and CEO David V. Heald. “In correlation with our continued growth, the bank will end the third quarter in our new headquarters in Santa Cruz. Our new headquarters will afford us higher visibility, with ample parking and an additional ATM for convenience to attract new business while deepening existing relationships. We look forward to serving the community in our new location in September.”
