Fundraiser benefits Yoga for All Movement

Yoga for All Movement will mark its seventh anniversary with a fundraiser and celebration on Oct. 15 from 4-6:30pm at Woodhouse Blending & Brewing, 119 Madrone St. in Santa Cruz.

The nonprofit organizes movement and mindfulness classes for individuals experiencing substance use disorders, youth in schools, youth and adults experiencing incarceration, isolated seniors, the LGBTQ+ community, people with mental health needs and economically disadvantaged communities.

It works with various organizations throughout Santa Cruz County, including Janus of Santa Cruz, Watsonville Senior Center, Rountree and Si Se Puede in Watsonville.

“Research confirms that mindfulness and yoga are effective interventions for PTSD, self-regulation, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, complex trauma, and have the power to positively impact physical health and mental well-being,” said Hannah Muse, president of the Yoga for All Movement. “Everyone deserves access to these invaluable tools—especially those who find themselves in extremely difficult circumstances like incarceration, addiction recovery, and mental health crisis—often left behind by society. At the Yoga for All Movement, we are making that access a reality; here, in our beloved community of Santa Cruz.”

Tickets for the Oct. 15 event can be purchased at givebutter.com/0vIIoR.
