WATSONVILLE — Drenching rain visited the Monterey Bay region starting Sunday night.
Tuesday, rain is likely before 10 a.m., the National Weather Service said, then a chance of showers, mainly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 60 degrees.
The wet weather is largely drifting in from the Gulf of Alaska and the west Pacific.
There is a 20 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters are saying Wednesday should be partly sunny with a high near 62 degrees.
“It will continue to get heavier through Monday night and into Tuesday morning,” said meteorologist Steve Anderson of the National Weather Service of Monterey
Anderson said 1.03 inches of rain fell in Watsonville over the past 24 hours. Corralitos took in 1.06 inches, Eureka Canyon gathered 1.15 inches and Soquel got 2 inches.
