Aptos High sophomore Isaiah Ackerman may have been a first-year starter for the Mariners’ boys basketball team but what he did on the court this season was enough to turn some heads.
The coaches within the league recognized Ackerman for his accomplishments as he earned All-Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League First Team honors.
He had an average of 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 27 games played this season for the Mariners (19-9), who were league co-champion with Santa Cruz High with a 9-1 record in league play.
Fellow senior teammate Trevor Brady played a huge role as a team captain and one of the leaders both on and off the court. He had an average of 9.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in 27 games played this season.
Aptos seniors Harrison Bloom and Hudson Garvey along with junior Lawrence Ingram IV were named to the Honorable Mention team.
