Heavy rain pelted the Central Coast Sunday and into early Monday.
Streets were drenched with pounding rain over the night and areas prone to flooding showed signs of the Gulf of Alaska storm with heaving pooling.
Steve Anderson of the National Weather Service said 1.91 inches of rain fell in Watsonville, and Soquel registered 2.1 inches.
Anderson said the current storm is generating large surf and that there is a small craft advisory on the sea.
“It will start drying out into the week with a possibility of rain by Friday,” Anderson said.
