Delbert Robert Herschbach, age 79, passed away at his home in Royal Oaks, CA on August 22, 2018.
He was born on April 1st, 1939 in San Jose, CA to Robert Dudley Herschbach, and Dorothy Edith Beer. Delbert had 5 siblings: Dudley, Dorothy Dell, Dennis, Dale and Darnell.
On August 31st, 1963 Delbert married Rosmarie Ingeborg Herschmann. Together they raised four daughters: Lorraine, Rosmarie, Della, and Erika; and had 9 grandchildren.
Delbert was known for a very strong work ethic, his humor was unique and he made light of even the most challenging circumstances. Delbert enjoyed making jam, fly-fishing, hiking, raising Red Angus Beef, and growing cut flowers. Delbert could properly identify just about every type of plant that he came across. Delbert honorably served in the Coast Guard Reserves. He also attended Cal Poly where he earned a degree in Soil Science.
All friends and family are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life between 1- 4 P.M., Sunday, September 30th, at the Corralitos Community Center, 35 Browns Valley Rd., in Corralitos, CA.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 17th, in Plains, Montana.
Donations can be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in loving memory of Delbert. He will be dearly missed by many.
