SANTA CRUZ–Thousands of people flocked to downtown Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon for the annual Pride Parade.

Various community organizations, religious groups, schools, sports teams and businesses from as far away as San Francisco marched together down Pacific Avenue in a show of support of the LGBTQ+ community of Santa Cruz County. Parade goers lined up for blocks to cheer participants on.

South County was represented at the parade by Pajaro Valley Pride and various PVUSD Gay-Straight Alliances, including students from Pajaro Valley High and Lakeview Middle. PV Pride is planning their own event to be held on August 19.

Following Sunday’s parade a festival was held on Cedar Street with entertainment, food trucks and vendors.
