WATSONVILLE — Luis C. Vazquez died at a local convalescent center on Thursday, June 15, 2017. He was 59.
Mr. Vazquez was born in Tlacuitapan, Jalisco Mexico to Luis and Fernanda Vazquez, however he moved to this area when he was 15. He worked in the fields and eventually worked at Martinelli’s for many years as a machine operator.
Mr. Vazquez loved to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing numerous sports including pool and volleyball. He also enjoyed playing games with his family and going to the casinos.
Mr. Vazquez is survived by his sons, Luis Vazquez Jr. and Eric Steven Vazquez both of Watsonville; daughter, Vanessa Erica Vazquez of Watsonville; step-daughter, Maritza Alvarado of Watsonville; common law former wife, Isabel Alvarado; brothers, Camerino, Francisco, Onofre (his identical twin brother) and Baudelio Vazquez; sisters, Maria De Los Angeles Moran, Bertha Garcia, Lourdes Heredia, Maricela Marquez and Patricia Vazquez; god-daughter, Marjorie Acevado; 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Manuel Rodriguez.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Eucharist Catholic Community in Corralitos on Friday, June 23 at 11:30 a.m. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
