WATSONVILLE—Thanks to helping hands at the Watsonville Public Library, free library service at your home is a phone call, or email away.
LibraryLink is a long-standing outreach service designed to bring the trove of library materials to the homes of those who cannot easily leave their homes.
Librarian Susan Renison, while on delivery to the home of Edna and Roy Stodder, said the program is simple and easy to use.
“It’s a beautiful program and Susan is just a wonderful person,” Edna Stodder said. “I’m 89 and Roy is 91. We’ve been married for 68 years. We both have some health issues so it’s not so easy to get out to places like the library now. Susan helps us so much.”
The free program typically involves a pre-arranged monthly home visit to each patron who has filled out a simple form. A valid library card is also required. A screened volunteer brings material of your choosing or material that matches your preferences.
Materials deliverable in the program include large and regular print books, VHS videos DVD, Audio Book on CD or cassette tape and CDs.
