Hundreds of people attended the 2024 Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Business Expo Job Fair at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds April 25.

“What a wonderful time yesterday seeing everyone having fun while meeting new and old friends,” said Chamber CEO Shaz Roth.  “We had around 75 local businesses, restaurants, and organizations there to meet the community. Many businesses were looking for great new employees and a lot of attendees were there looking for employment.”

  2. As a lifelong employer, here’s a few tips for would be job hunters/employees

#1 complaint among all sectors of employers? Tardy employees.
Show up on time (or early), ready to work.
    -Dress for the job.
-Believe or not, not all people/businesses are impressed with your exposed tattoos- consider where you’ll get that next “gotta have” tattoo….
-Be honest with your employer- Don’t fudge your time card, steal from the business, etc..
Employers aren’t stupid and you’ll be out of a job shortly with no/poor references.
-Don’t jump on your “smart phone” at every opportunity to check non-business tweets, etc….
Good luck on your job search!!
