Carlos Hernandez, Pajaro Valley, (Sr.): The 6-foot, 202-pounder, will attempt to compete in two sports this season, beginning with football in the fall and then on the track and field team in the spring.

He is coming into his first season as the full-time running back after splitting time with Russel Pablo last season. The All-Pacific Coast Athletic League Santa Lucia division first team selection didn’t start until the league opener against Gonzales.

According to MBayPreps.com, Hernandez finished with 499 yards on 70 carries and eight touchdowns. Prior to playing running back, he had experience as a linebacker.

Hernandez will try to help turnaround a Pajaro Valley football program that has not finished with a winning record since 2013.

Hernandez has his eyes set on trying out for the track and field team, where he plans to compete in the 100-meters and 4×100 relay events. He also has an interest in the long jump but has not decided if he wants to compete in it or not.
